Testimonials

Sydney is a team player. She is always interested in putting forth her absolute best work ethic, not just for herself, but for her colleagues and classmates as well. This is a rare quality in a young person, but one that Sydney takes very seriously in every aspect of her studies. She takes direction very well, asks excellent and insightful questions, and practices new concepts until she can put them into work for herself. Sydney doesn’t just observe and repeat what she sees and hears. She considers how the ideas introduced will best serve what she wants to accomplish, and creatively integrates them into her comprehensive portfolio of academic, artistic, and extracurricular activities.

Sydney is a dedicated and talented musician. Her organizational prowess and musical ability combine to great effect. I am confident that any project Sydney undertakes will be completed with precision and care. As a conductor, she invests the time necessary to delve deeply into a piece of music, then uses that study to draw exquisite musicality from an ensemble seemingly effortlessly. Sydney has a way of connecting with people from all walks of life that evokes respect from those she encounters. Her natural musical ability and aural skill allows her to make the minute adjustments that make all the difference between good and exceptional musical performance.

She brings her utmost to every rehearsal, is generous to her colleagues and fully invests in the work to be done. In performance, both the sincerity and warmth of her characters and the natural ease, beauty, and agility of her voice invite the audience to not merely watch but be drawn into the story. Sydney is a gifted singer with incredible musical instincts! I am continually amazed at her level of performance. She is also a delight to work with and makes great musical colleagues in all of her performance endeavors.
